T is for Terapeutas Ocupacionais

Back in October 2019, I had the opportunity to meet Elisabete Roldão, the portuguese WFOT delegate. Not only did I get a tour of the university she teaches at and spend a lovely lunch with her and another professor (complete with a traditional portuguese dish followed by a cafe), but I also got to present to a room full of occupational therapy students.

Following the presentation, the faculty presented me with a thank you gift full of APTO (the portuguese OT association) swag, including the tee shirt I am wearing above. I love connecting with therapists and students across the globe and this experience is one that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Today’s ABCs of OT is dedicated to all the occupational therapy associations around the world. I am a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. Which one(s) are you a member of?
