This week, the best of occupational therapy includes: friendly shoes, a magic dressing wand, and swift product recommendations.

Curious What “The BOOT” is?

Here’s the Deal: This is where I bring you the best of the best from the field of OT.

Is there anything that you think should be included in the BOOT? Email me and let me know: sarah@ot4lyfe.com.

More importantly, let’s find out who gets “The BOOT” this week…

best of occupational therapy

Last week, I attended AOTA’s Inventors Showcase virtually and it was a really cool experience. I watched as a handful of passionate OT inventors presented their products and then had the opportunity for judge and audience feedback. Today I wanted to share a few of the products that were shared.

Shoes For All Abilities

Accessible, functional, comfortable, and fashionable, Friendly Shoes checks all the boxes for shoes that promote safer mobility and independence for all.

A Magic Wand Making Dressing a Breeze

The Dressing Stick is specifically designed for pediatric clients to assist them in all their dressing needs.

Making Product Recommendations a Snap

SwiftRec is revolutionizing the way practitioners make product recommendations to their clients and assists in keeping track of what they recommend.

Busy As a Bee!

This past week has been busy over here at the OT 4 Lyfe HQ. Firstly, I released a new podcast episode with fellow OT podcaster, Kwaku Agyemang from OT and Chill. Kwaku shares a look into what it’s like working as an occupational therapist within the prison system.

Secondly, we’ve completed the first 7 out of 30 days of the #30daymovementchallenge. This time around we are doing 1 minute planks every single day and the group is starting to get creative with their plank game. Check out my Instagram stories if you want to see what we are up to. Wanna join in? All you have to do is post a video on your Instagram story and tag me @ot.4.lyfe so we can hold each other accountable #accountabilOT.

Thirdly, myself and a few other OT podcasters submitted a proposal to present at the 2021 AOTA conference in San Diego, CA. We were accepted to present this year, but due to the conference getting cancelled, we’re trying again for next year. Fingers crossed we get to share our love for occupational therapy podcasts at the next AOTA conference.

And lastly, I’m moving! I have been busy packing, cleaning, and organizing all week. Stay tuned to find out where I am headed.

Do you have questions or comments or just wanna say “Hi!”? Wanna suggest something for the best of occupational therapy? Reach out to me! I would love to hear from you:

Cheers!
