Name: My Bui, OTR/L
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, CA
Practice Area: Pediatrics: School Based
Favorite Occupation: Jiu Jitsu
How often do you engage in your favorite occupation?
“3 times a week”
What do you get out of it?
“Mental clarity, physical techniques to empower myself, a new set of skills, mindfulness, a new way of thinking, a new social circle that became family”
What does it mean to your lyfe?
“Jiu Jitsu was a craft that I never thought I would be involved in or be good at. It’s a scary sport physically and starting something new is also scary, because CHANGE IS SCARY! To me, engaging in this occupation has meant pushing past the limits of fears and doubts and it made me realized that I can do a lot more than that limit that I place upon myself. It has taught me the most valuable lesson that I needed learn, and that is to not put a limit on yourself because you never know what your amazing mind and body is capable of, until you jump past that line called fear and doubt. Change can be scary, but it can also be OH SO GREAT!”
I have actually never done any sort of martial arts before, but have always been curious about it. Who else here does Jiu Jitsu or another type of martial arts?
