Surfing is a new occupation for her and one she started since moving to California. She also was fortunate enough to take lessons during her externship in Australia.
When asked what it means to her, she said, “For me I love being active, and I love being on water. Growing up on one of the biggest lakes in the world, all my favorites activities surrounded water, so naturally I had to try surfing once I moved to California.”
She goes on to say, “Being able to go out on a board gives me a sense of peace and home, and no matter what is going on I am able to zone in and forget about all my outside stresses. There’s something extremely therapeutic about being on the water and becoming one with part of something so much bigger than myself!”
