What does OT mean to your lyfe?
OT means finding hope and joy in the small moments. Being able to share one small thing that can help my patients make the biggest impact or feel more independent than they were before.
What’s your most memorable moment as an OT practitioner?
Well, I’ve been practicing for about 8 months now, so I’m still pretty new. I would have to say watching one of my patients go from laying in bed and stating goals of wanting to wipe themselves and spend time with friends. Watching them go from pretty maximum levels of assistance to going with them on a home visit and watching them walk around their home and discharge from the facility. We had a rocky practitioner-client relationship at first, but the more I got to know them, the more we bonded and I was sad (and happy) to see them go back home.
