Is there anything that you think should be included in the BOOT? Email me and let me know.

Also, make sure you subscribe to the podcast and feel free to join in on the discussion in the free community.

More importantly, let’s find out who gets “The BOOT” this week…

best of occupational therapy

Hey y’all. Today I’m featuring some amazing OT practitioners who used their OT brain in developing a product to help their clients. I have a feeling this will be a multi-part feature since there are just so many awesome OTpreneurs out there, so let’s see who got the BOOT today.

WooTape

WooTape is a fantastic product developed to help children with their handwriting. So often dittos and worksheet that kids receive in school are missing one major component… lines. And when there aren’t lines, children struggle with how and where to write their letters. WooTape is a simple, writable, erasable, and adjustable solution to all your writing needs.

Clinitote

Clinitote is a high quality medical bag designed for clinicians, by clinicians. There are a few different models all designed to help us practitioners keep track of all of our materials needed in order to do our job. If you like organization and compartments, this bag is for you.

Handee Band

Handee Band is the solution to allow children to exercise independently, regardless of where they are. The bands are designed specifically to promote strength, sensory development, and coordination and come with awesome animal graphics to illustrate the exercise. I’ll add that the creator of this product was also the first OT I met and is the whole reason I chose to pursue this career.

Access Trax

Access Trax is a portable, foldable pathway that provides accessibility to all individuals, including those using mobility devices or parents with strollers. This product promotes accessibility through empowering all people to be able to access the outdoors.

Unbuckle Me

Unbuckle Me uses the magical power of leverage in order to help people be able to unbuckle child car seats. It can be used for people who have weaker hands, long fingernails, or for children who want to be able to do it themselves (when appropriate).

Happy September!

I can’t believe it is officially fall! I am still getting settled in my new place and unpacking/ organizing. So many boxes! But I’m getting close to being done!!

Last Monday, I released a new podcast episode sharing advice for OT & OTA students from some amazing OT practitioners in the field. If you’re a student or know a student, share the episode with them because seriously this is stuff I wish I had heard when I was a student.

Also, there’s a brand new question of the month, so if you want to be featured in an upcoming podcast episode, get your voicemails in. I can’t wait to share all the amazingness I have received. What’s the current question of the month- What’s your most outside of the box idea when it comes to working with your clients?

For this month’s #30daymovementchallenge we’re doing #animalwalks4lyfe. If you wanna join in, post a video on your Instagram story, tag me @ot.4.lyfe, and use the #lunges4lyfe so we can hold each other accountable #accountabilOT. Check out my IG stories everyday to see all the creativeness in action.

Got resources you want to share? Hit me up because I would love to feature them or have you as a guest blogger for “The BOOT”. Contact me here.

Cheers!
